Barcelona break Spanish record with 180 goals in 2015
One hundred and eighty! Barcelona broke Real Madrid's record for most goals in a calendar year on Wednesday night, taking their tally for 2015 to 180.

Fresh from winning their fifth trophy of the year at the Club World Cup in Japan, Barca returned to La Liga action and strolled past Betis thanks to two goals from Luis Suarez, another from Lionel Messi and a Heiko Westermann own goal.

Messi has 48 of those 180 goals, Suarez also has 48 goals and Neymar has 41, meaning the trio make up for 75 per cent of the Catalan side's goals this year.
Barcelona ended the year two clear of Real Madrid's 178-goal haul of 2014, which came in the year they won the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and Club World Cup under Carlo Ancelotti.

Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo scored 108 of those 178 goals, or 60.6 per cent.
